As an official #SundanceSatellite Screen for the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, through this partnership, we will create and host our own events with South Carolina and North Carolina partners, share local cultural conversations with broader Festival audiences, and of course screen selections from the 2021 program.
All live film screenings will take place at Spotlight Cinemas Capital 8 in the Northeast community of Columbia (with full Covid-19 regulations in place) and Beyond Film Events will be presented virtually.
Says Curtis Caesar John, executive director of The Luminal, “We look forward to creating opportunities for curious audiences to gain access not only to new films premiering with the Festival online and with us here in Columbia, but to a broad swath of cultural conversations -- including our events and talks that will bring some of our local arts conversations to a wider audience.”
